planning

things are continuing to progress with the planning of the worship event/benefit and I'm getting more excited for it as we go. Pray that we can get the right location for this.
Also...we're going to be at Rick's Music Cafe on Feb. 16th Friday. Music starts at 8:00pm and we're the last band that night so I'm not really even sure when we'll be playing. Tickets are $5...we'd love for anyone who can to come out and join us.

This is our second day off of school in a row because of the cold...I'm ready to go back...

Urbane Knights

Last Sunday afternoon a few people from our faith community went up to Toledo and visited some "transition" houses run by the Urbane Knights.

We were touched...moved...shocked...excited all at the same time as we toured these houses where people have an opportunity for Jesus to put their lives back together. They have been referred to these houses after coming out of jail and receive job training, life training, assistance of many kinds, spiritual guidance, and especially the confidence of knowing that they are worth something. They are finding out that they are not just throw away garbage as most of our society would view them, but that they are children of God.

The living conditions are not what most of us suburbanites would consider "comfortable" at all...but they are making the best of this opportunity and lives are being transformed. Bernard Williams is the director of this ministry and came up with the concept of it during his second sentence in jail. This man is a man after God's own heart and has enough passion to ignite the entire city of Toledo on fire. We are very excited about partnering with Bernard both financially and with our time as we plan to be able to help with building needs as well as developing relationships with some of the people in the program.

We are planning a worship event/benefit for Urbane Knights and have all proceeds go to the ministry. There are a lot of costs involved and virtually no money coming in yet God continues to pay the bills. I will have more information soon about a location of this event, but I would invite anyone reading this to join us on Saturday April 14th at 7:00pm. We are planning a time of worship in song and also hearing from Bernard his own story and the stories of others that have been transformed by the grace of God.
