good times

We've been asking the question lately at our dinner table, "what was your favorite part of the day?" to get Macee to talk about things...about life...so we can especially as a family know what is going on in each other's lives when we're not together and it's been good. The other day Macee said to me after we sat down at the table, "ask me about my favorite part today." I know I had a big smile on my face at that point. To know that she already looks forward to sharing with us about her life is pretty cool. A couple days after that she asked me, "daddy, what was your favorite part?" nice...

I was down lifting on monday with mike and afterward they sent me home with a huge plate of pumkin bread...HOLY COW!!!!!!! It was only the best pumpkin bread I had ever had. In fact, I just had two warm pieces for breakfast...I could've eaten the whole plate...but I had some restraint.

Sharing communion with this gathering for the common meal on Tuesdays has been much needed for me...it has meant more to me than I thought it would. I've never really found much in the Eucharist, but lately it has been a whole new experience...

Thank you Jesus for friends, for grace...for our family

Cosmos

Will and I have been playing cosmos together for a short while right now and I think it is going pretty well. We had a great time this Saturday. I think it is partly because we are a little more practiced than we have been and actually had enough material to make it two hours with a short break. People seem to like it and we haven't had any rotten fruit thrown at us yet...

What was even better is that Mike and Amy stopped by with Madison and Mary and Lars were there with Madelyn...it was great to have them meet each other. It was cool to see some of our "separate" worlds starting to merge, I can't wait for more of that as we embark on this next leg of our journey...

Lunch with the Taylors and hanging out at hot topic was a blast today...

Jesus, thank you for friends...for life

Relief

I feel free today. I shared this week with the church board and worship crew about our desire to be involved in a house church network here in BG. Obviously we'll be transitioning out of BGNaz over the next well, however long it takes. I'm not in a huge hurry because I think it is going to take some time to get some things hammered out with the whole music thing. None the less, it feels good to know that we are headed in the direction that has been laid out for us on this journey. The board was very supportive and encouraging...I couldn't have asked for a better response. I was worried about the music stuff just because we have become such a close group over the past 3 years. I told them of my being uneasy about all of this because I didn't want to lose the "band" we've become. They said, "why would you lose it?" That was encouraging as well, I mean obviously things won't be the same, but I am glad that the possibility of still being a band and making music together will be there in some form or another.

I will miss what we have right now...I will miss it a great deal...but I know that we are going where we need to go and doing what we need to do...there is peace in that...much peace

This has been my vision for almost 2 years now and now that it's here, I am a little scared to take the leap and leave behind what we've always known...
Even though I knew this was coming at some point in our future, it doesn't make it any easier to leave behind what is comfortable, predictable and known...

Jesus, thank you for revealing yourself to us in the happenings of everyday life...thank you for being in the mundane and the seemingly unimportant details we daily encounter...

Correction

I couldn't remember the dog gone name...something as important as this...you would think I could remember something this monumental...this unforgettable...this...well...HUGE...

It was "Euro-Trunks" not "Euro-Jockeys"...stupid, stupid, stupid...

Anyway...I was wondering if Lee, my good friend in Amsterdam has found any of these new "Euro-Trunks" running around his end of Europe...any luck out there Lee? I suppose over there you have things such as "Ameri-Trunks"...just wondering...

(if you have no idea what I am talking about...you better check my last post)

Thanks you Jesus, for meeting with us tonight, for being present with us in the bread and the juice...
For friends, for a meal shared around the table...we are grateful

new computer...

wow...this thing actually works...

Our old one was so gummed up that it was taking about a minute and a half to load a page while online...what a waste of time

A spydoctor/registry cleaner couldn't even do the trick, tried to reformat the hard drive, it wouldn't let me and I don't know how to do that from DOS so a new computer was the only obvious alternative. You have to love the prices for computers these days...what a deal

Anyway, thought I would blog on this lightning fast dial up connection...I mean, with a computer that works, why not just keep dial up...I'm not downloading music or other large files so who cares right? I'm just trying to convince myself to not spend any more money on technology bells and whistles...it's working so far. Besides that...we have the "dial-up accelerator"!!!!!!

It was good to have a week off Sunday...pancakes for breakfast was a good move...cinnamon and brown sugar was also a good move.

Sara mentioned on her blog about my Euro-jockeys...I happen to have a picture that appeared on another blog of me in these technological wonders of undergarment satisfaction. You'll notice that they do have stickers on them, those were add-ons and a nice touch I must say...see below...

WOW....that's all I've got to say...wow

slacker blogger...or blogger slacker...or...

So it's been a while...

Things have been interesting lately...a few updates for those that care.

The new David Crowder CD is everything I expected it would be and more...
Work outs with Mike have been good...
Macee and Madison are two peas in a pod...
They invited us up to Chuck E. Cheese for Madison's birthday with some of Amy's family...
Pictures of Macee, Madison, and Chuck E. were pricless
School is good with my oversized room, although I did have an explosion involving my foot and a box of clay that went flying across the room as balls of clay spilled out. It was so bad I had to appologize at the end of the class for throwing/kicking the clay. I guess though it was better to do that to the clay than throw/kick the student...my flesh was very prominent that day and I wasn't proud of it, but thank you Jesus for grace and forgiveness.

Sara and I are coming out of some kind of funk and it's good...we have both been pretty stressed with all this interim crap going on, but I'm excited and nervous about the future.

I am finishing work on a 4 song demo cd...maybe I'll link up to it and you can listen and tell me how bad it is.

Cosmos has been fun...we've played for the last two Sat. nights and should be again this weekend from 7ish to 9ish if you care to stop by...

I suppose that it all...maybe more later

thank you Jesus for reminding me that when I live in my flesh it gets ugly...help me to allow you to live in and through me so I can get out of the way...thank you for the rescue that has come and is coming...
