What's up with that

I met a new friend tonight...Kyle Patrick was playing at Cosmos right after me and we had a chance to chat for a few minutes. Check out is music...he's good...

So anyway, things were pretty slow tonight at the ol' coffee shop(for me anyway, Kyle brought a nice crowd)...you all must have had other plans...so anyway, after I was done playing I decided to stay for a little while and let Kyle use my stuff so he didn't have to set-up and tear down seeings how my stuff was already there and ready to go. Kyle then gets done and is helping me tear down and load up when a cop pokes his head into Cosmos and asks if I'm Chris Dilbone...I'm thinking...yeah...and...He proceeds to tell me that my van has a window broken out of it.

Well that's just great...I help a guy out and what do I get for it...a broken window...oh well, at least they didn't steal anything. My 1963 Gibson Falcon amp was sitting in the front seat untouched...thank God...

I still haven't had much feedback on my mp3 samples from many of you, if you think it's bad, or you have some other opinion...just tell me...don't make me beg...'diltunes' on the sidebar...this is your last warning...

Jesus, thank you for tonight...even a broken window...for meeting new people, for getting me out of my comfort zone...

pain

Sara took me to the emergency room yesterday morning. I had been having shooting pains on the right side of my head for about 24 hours and they were only getting worse. I didn't know what to think, but I know I just wanted it to stop. So they did a cat scan and said it came out negative...I hoped that was a good thing...I was a little sedated by this point, so I wasn't entirely sure. They came to the conclusion that some fluid behind my ear was pressing on my facial nerve and inflaming it causing the pains shooting up into my head. A shot of steroids later and I was pain free...amazing.

Thank you Jesus, for taking care of me and my family. Thank you for smart doctors and medicine...we love you

Good pictures

So here are some good ones...you have to love the keytar that he played during one of the songs

Oh yeah, for anyone who cares...I'll be at Cosmos from 7-9ish on Sat. night again.

Crowder Concert

Sara and I had a great time at the concert at Anderson University on Sunday night...

My mom watched Macee and we snuck off and enjoyed another crowder-a-thon. 'Robby Seay Band' and 'Shane and Shane' were also very good. It seemed the crowder band was a little under the weather...maybe a little road weary as they finish up this tour, and as they buried a friend and pastor a couple of weeks ago...tough times for them...I can't even imagine...

I was anxious to see if they would be able to pull off some of the album's studio tricks live and they did a pretty good job I must say. The pictures all turned out terrible, but you can at least see who it is I guess...how can you mistake the hair...

songs

I finally got my ftp program to work...so I put the links to those audio clips on my side bar under "diltunes" ...check them out and tell me how bad they are...

We have parent teacher conferences today from noon to 8...I hate conferences...

Last night we went down to Mike and Amy's to "work out" and hang out for a little while. It was good...We have never had friends in our neighborhood before(our own fault)...it's kinda nice...great, now I can't get that stupid Sesame street song out of my head..."who are the people in your neighborhood, in your neighborhood, in your neighborhoo-ood..."

It is finished

This morning was my last day as the worship leader at BGNaz. It was good...God's grace was there, we felt him there. Most folks were very kind and I know we'll be missed as they will also be missed. They have been our church family for over 8 years now and so this is quite a change. I think there are some others though that are probably relieved that we'll be leaving...we've pushed the limits musically over the past couple of years and I think some are a little tired of the constant pushing. Which is ok...I just had to be true to who I am...and trying to balance that with other's preferences has always been a struggle for me.

Anyway...on to the next step on this journey we're on. Not really sure what things will look like, but I am anxious to get moving on it.

A 6 song demo will be wrapped up hopefully within the week. It's not great, but it'll do for a first attempt...a couple of the songs are ok I think...

Parent teacher conferences are this week...I always love the facial expressions on the parents when they come in and see the way I look. The bald head is one thing, but when they see the flared flesh tunnels they begin to wonder if they're in the right place.

Thank you Jesus for my family, friends, for your grace...we are blessed beyond measure. May we continue to be filled by your spirit in increasing measure so that those around us would see your love lived out...

Halloween Princess

Macee was a "princess" for trick or treat...wearing a $100 dress she just wore for a wedding she was in...it had to be the most expensive costume around...She was too cute

quick one

I wanted to blog monday night but just didn't get around to it. God to bed at 9:45 that night...wow, I don't remember the last time that happened.

Found out Saturday that this time of transition at BGNaz is going to be cut short as next week will be my last sunday to lead worship. I have mixed feelings about it, but in all of it I know Jesus is king and he is my rock.

Mike and Amy invited us to take macee trick or treating with madison on monday and we had a great time...pictures to follow soon...

Last night we had a small group of people for the gathering...sometimes it's just nice like that. Sometimes things get so crazy that you can't even hear yourself think. We were laid bare before each other and experienced community in a very real way. To quote Mike last night, "you know...tonight was a beautiful thing." I agree...

Thank you Jesus...for friends...your peace...contentment...
